- Night of the Living Dummy II is the thirty-first book in the original Goosebumps book series, and the second book in the Living Dummy saga. It was first published in 1995. This is the first book where Slappy is the lead villain. After this book, Slappy becomes the main antagonist of the Living Dummy books (except in Slappy's Nightmare and The Dummy Meets the Mummy!). The original 1995 cover illustration shows Slappy the Dummy sitting at the foot of a pink bed, alongside two stuffed toy animals with frightened expressions on their faces. The 2015 Classic Goosebumps cover illustration depicts Slappy sitting by Sara's bedroom closet with a sinister look on his face. Red paint is smeared all over the walls.
